Singapore, 22 October 2015 -YCH Group, Asia Pacific's leading integrated end-to-end supply chain solutions provider announced today that they will be tapping on technology in a bid to raise the bar of excellence for the logistics sector. With YCH's CSR philosophy of "teach a man to fish" towards building capabilities for self-sustenance, the group also announced during the dinner an initiative to build the next generation of talent for the Supply Chain sector. The company intends to train 600 graduates and mid-career professionals over the next three years, through the establishment of a state of the art supply chain academy within Supply Chain City™.

Mr. Bennett Neo, Chief Executive Officer of YCH Group shared that "talent management is one of YCH's five strategic pillars. We will be relentless in our efforts to attract, develop and retain the best talents in the industry."

With the recent signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between YCH Group and the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) in July this year, YCH was keen to demonstrate its commitment to the nationwide SkillsFuture initiative. DPM Tharman expressed during his speech that "as one of the first companies in Singapore to embark on the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) and offer multiple pathways for its employees, YCH is leading the way for Singaporean firms to provide a more synergistic manpower blend with various customised HR strategies for fresh graduates, mid-career entrants and senior workers. Its early adoption of the SkillsFuture initiatives will also allow the company to plant the seeds for a more motivated, dynamic and well-endowed workforce. This is an excellent example of an industry-led initiative that would also uplift the skills and capability of smaller industry players which would otherwise not be able to benefit from structured workplace learning."

Mr Neo further reiterated at the gala dinner: "We have evolved, changed and responded in innovative and flexible ways to assure our survival in the past few decades. We will continue to embrace transformation to keep pace with the changing dynamics, while simultaneously keeping true to our founding traditions and principles which have defined and distinguished the company." As a lead up to the gala dinner, the group also held a Charity Golf Tournament in July which raised S$420,000 after monetary matching by the Government. The donations were allocated to the ITE Endowment Fund aimed at providing financial assistance for underprivileged students in the areas of daily and schooling expenses. ITE was chosen as the charity organisation of choice for its focus on education and employment, which is in line with YCH's "Teach a man to fish" philosophy and belief in practitioner-based learning.
