Hanoi, Vietnam – Vietnam is reinforcing its role as a key driver of ASEAN collaboration and regional trade, reaffirming its commitment to a dynamic and integrated economic landscape. At a high-level dialogue with ASEAN businesses in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highlighted Vietnam’s strategic priorities: energy connectivity, logistics efficiency, and innovation as essential pillars for sustainable economic growth.
Dr Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort™, contributed to this pivotal conversation with insights on how the Vietnam SuperPort™ is set to transform regional logistics. Strategically located in Vinh Phuc, the multimodal logistics hub facilitates seamless trade flows between Vietnam, the ASEAN, China, and beyond. By leveraging advanced technology, AI-driven automation, and sustainable practices, the SuperPort™ is not only enhancing operational efficiency but also working towards net-zero emissions by 2040.
“Vietnam’s ambitious economic goals, including an 8% GDP growth target by 2025 and projected double-digit expansion in the years ahead, present immense opportunities for regional collaboration,” said Dr Yap. “With smart infrastructure, AI-driven automation, and sustainable logistics at its core, the Vietnam SuperPort™ is poised to accelerate intra-ASEAN trade and investment.”
The seminar also brought together senior government officials, including Deputy Prime Ministers Bui Thanh Son and Ho Duc Phoc, key ministers, ASEAN diplomats, and business leaders to discuss the growth of Vietnam. As ASEAN remains Vietnam's fourth-largest export market and third-largest import market, the regional bloc represents significant opportunities for sustainable growth. In 2024, Vietnam's total import-export turnover with ASEAN countries reached US$83.6 billion, with Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand among the leading investors.
ASEAN businesses expressed their confidence in Vietnam's growth trajectory and reaffirmed their commitment to investing in sectors with high potential such as logistics, high technology, AI, energy, and e-commerce. To achieve its ambitious growth targets, Vietnam is also actively enhancing its business environment, regulatory frameworks, and infrastructure, with AI-driven automation and sustainability initiatives playing a critical role in modernising the logistics landscape.
YCH Group is committed to innovation, sustainability, and regional collaboration, leveraging smart logistics solutions and sustainable development to establish the Vietnam SuperPort™ as a globally competitive logistics hub.
