YCH Group Explores Strategic Investment in Danang’s Lien Chieu Port to Strengthen Vietnam’s Logistics Network

Danang, Vietnam – On 10 March 2025, Dr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of YCH Group, and Dr Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort™, led a delegation to meet with Mr Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Danang People’s Committee, to discuss potential collaboration in multimodal logistics development at Lien Chieu Port. 

Vietnam is a key strategic market for YCH Group, with its partnership with T&T Group on the Vietnam SuperPort™ in Vinh Phuc Province. As a crucial link in the country’s logistics ecosystem, Danang holds the potential to serve as a key gateway, seamlessly connecting the SuperPort™ in northern Vietnam to YCH’s existing operations in the south. Strengthening this connectivity will optimise domestic trade flows and further integrate Vietnam into the global supply chain. 

“Danang’s strategic location and growing economic potential make it a critical logistics and transportation hub. As we expand our presence in Vietnam, YCH Group is keen to explore investment opportunities in Lien Chieu Port to enhance connectivity, improve supply chain efficiency, and drive sustainable growth,” said Dr. Robert Yap. 

Located at the end of the East-West Economic Corridor, Lien Chieu Port is positioned to alleviate congestion at the overloaded Tien Sa port. The deep-water port is designed to handle up to 50 million tons of cargo annually by 2050, accommodating large-scale container vessels of up to 18,000 TEUs and further strengthening Vietnam’s role in international trade. 

Chairman Le Trung Chinh reaffirmed the nation’s plan to developing Lien Chieu Port into an international gateway, attracting global transportation and logistics leaders. “Danang boasts ample potential and advantages in economic development, alongside its strategic location as a transportation hub and transit point for goods and services,” stated Chairman Le Trung Chinh.
