Singapore, 25 May 2007

Leading Singapore-based logistics and supply chain management company YCH Group today received the Secure Trade Partnership (STP) certification from Singapore Customs. The first end-to-end Supply Chain Management (SCM) provider in Singapore to receive the accreditation, the STP acknowledges YCHs adoption of a total supply chain approach to security as well as its application and implementation of stringent security measures to ensure the safety of customer's goods.

Being the first local end-to-end SCM company to receive the STP accreditation is a great affirmation of our commitment to our customers in Singapore and the region as well as a testament to our leadership position in the Asia Pacifics logistics industry. This is a great boon for our customers as it will give them greater peace of mind and reinforce the trust they have in the security measures that we have implemented at our facilities in Singapore and across the Asia Pacific, said Dr. Robert Yap, Chairman and CEO, YCH Group.

As a trusted partner of Singapore Customs, YCH will be able to clear the customers goods through the various customs checkpoints in a more efficient manner. This will translate into a faster to speed to market for customers products which will be beneficial to their businesses.

Receiving the STP certification means that YCHs customers will enjoy a robust security management system that enhances supply chain velocity. STP requirements facilitate the reduction of theft and fraud; this translates into better quality supply chain management with increased product velocity. The greater product velocity also limits the exposure to terrorist and criminal threats due to the lower stationary time of customers products.

By embracing the STP, YCH will also be able to enhance the positive visibility of customers products which equates to timely arrivals that help to reduce supply chain variability. With lower variations in production and transit times, customers can enjoy larger inventory buffers with lower business costs.

YCH is one of the first organizations to achieve this accreditation. We are pleased that YCH has come forward to partner Singapore Customs to improve trade security and enhance Singapores position as a secure transport and trading hub, said Mr. Teo Eng Cheong, Director-General, Singapore Customs.

The robust STP framework implemented by Singapore Customs has guided the development, implementation, monitoring and review of YCHs security guidelines. From RFID technology to monitor the movement of goods and personnel, to controlled access for certain secure facilities via biometric means, YCH has gone the full distance in ensuring that there are no loopholes in its logistics and SCM solutions from start to finish. The Group is also working towards global accreditation of its stringent security policy and standards.

The benefits gleaned from the STP certification will not just be enjoyed by YCHs customers in Singapore but by all its clients across the companys Asia Pacific network. The STP has enabled YCH to scale this supply chain security programme to manage all of the companys specific security needs in a realistic and cost-effective manner within its network of facilities across the Asia-Pacific.
