Representatives from 14 business chambers and organizations from 12 Asian economies converged in Tokyo, Japan, for the 6th Asian Business Summit hosted by Nippon Keidanren from 12 to 13 July 2015. Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, was also present at the summit. With 2015 widely anticipated to be an epoch making year with the imminent establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), the summit discussed the expectations and aspirations of the Asian business community and delineated the role of the private sector in the sustained economic growth of the region. Businesses, with their direct presence in the market field, are able to provide the government with constructive feedback, who will be able to introduce pro-business schemes by analysing the feedback.
